Traitor?

'Traitor' is what S called me when i told him i was flying *SIA instead of *MAS from L0ndon to KL this time. despite my utmost dislike to the country, as in Spore. I'll not start on why, the list can go on and i dont really have the time now. i'll write about that sometime. its funny really, though i've been going there since I was 2 months old. mum was a s'porean before she got married to dad and gave up her citizenship. something i'm never surprised of. I still go there often to visit grandma, uncles and aunties..

So anyway, i chose to fly *SIA instead of the usual direct and convenient *MAS this time for a few reasons..
1. the timing suited better and waiting time at *changi wasn't bad,
2. my cousin said the in-flight service is better than *MAS, i had to try it myself. and
3. the main reason, *MAS sucks when it comes to over-weight baggage (an area i'm too good at)

To my surprise, I was more than pleased with my choice. some of my pointers on why I would recommend *SIA..
1. On-line check-in service with seat preference selection, saves time especially if you are rushing and prefer a particular seat, especially on a long howl..
2. My baggage weighed 31Kg (25 is the limit).. Took out some stuff but managed to check in 28kg..
3. I had to check in my hand luggage due to Heathrow's only one hand luggage policy (this includes your handbag even if its just a sling bag.. which i think is ridiculous!) SO, i had to check in my hand luggage that weighed 12kg.. all done with no fuss though I was finally way over the limit, 40 kg!
4. Seating arrangement was a bit congested the seat itself was slightly spacious and more comfortable than *MAS..
5. food was so so, nothing outstandingly great. but better choices of cocktails. and mocktails. the crews were friendly.. what more with my not very impressive experiences with *MAS lately.
6. Smooth transit in Changi, and impressive shopping options. thou I merely had 2 mins to glance, thanks to the delay in *heathrow. I had to rush for my connecting flight.

well, all said, the above certainly doesn't change anything on the way i feel about spore. am a true blue genuine malaysian* by choice.. so, S, you are still a 'traitor'..

on another note, its been a week since I'm back home. feels strange...
