*Laaga Chunari Mein Daag*

Watched it with N two weeks ago. Having to go all the way to KLCC was worth the effort. Beautiful ! In one word. The classic bollywood cliché.. Sentimental, tear-jerking saga with good performances (From Rani especially) and heartrobing stars (Abishek)!

The first song, where the movie begins is my fav! Was taken on the banks of Ganga river in Varanasi where you see Rani & Konkana joyfully dancing with their parents and fellow village people. Both traditional & beautifully set! other songs were good too..

About the casts, Rani as usual, Konkana who plays her sister was also very good. Very natural. Anupham Kher just OK. Jaya Bachan was bearable but the director could have done better. Abishek, goes without saying. Elegant, Smart & Sexy but short-lived. And then Kunal Kappoor is delightful. He and his charming smile. (what a dimple!) if only he puts on some weight.. hhmm

The few minus points.... Jaya Bachan’s over- acting.. Abhishek’s role, (apart from the too short appearance that didn't give enough time to drool over) seemed like the director tried too hard to squeeze a romance in there. and when he came back at the end, it was too coincidental. (but wasn’t that what bollywood is full of?) and finally the too convenient happy ending ..

Go watch if you are a bollywood fan like me! Despite the minuses above, you’ll find , ‘Laaga Chunari Mein Daag’ very entertaining..

If there is one bollywood actress I really like, it would be Rani Mukherjee. Though Tabu came close, she hasn't been around for sometime. Then again, I haven't watched a Hindi movie for ages.
