It's Friday afternoon. (ya, i know. am supposed to be working) a lot of work to do. blogging instead.. :) my house warming party for friends is this weekend. After months of hard work, frustration, annoyance, confusion, you name the feeling, i’m (almost) ready to flaunt it. I say for friends cause am hosting another one for family in july once sisters back for good . a 2in1 party to celebrate her return as Dr.K after 6-freaking years! god bless all the patience too. hehe
The flat’s come a long way since I bought it last sept (though the deal only came thru in Nov). You guys should have seen the place a week after the contractors started work. Totally ripped off. bare naked. won’t even go to how it was when i first bought it. but thats what i wanted, a run down place i can do up to my taste. I actually had some shots of before, WIP and the blessing ceremony, but its all gone now. the camera’s gone too. did i mention that? the one i got just before the euro holiday. Canon IXUS which i absolutely love(d) and convinced a few others to get the same! only realised it last week. still not sure if it went along with the laptop bag or was it here in my new house. Because i remember taking it out for something over here. been having contractors coming in and out for the carpentry and other small works the last couple of weeks. while the supervisor is here, i know there are times he left the guys on their own. i’m known to leave things lying around.. so not accusing anyone. Blaming it on pure bad luck and moving on. But I do need a new camera. any takers? My birthday’s not for the next 6 months but who’s counting ? :)
back to the flat, so there wont be a before-after post after all. Will put up the done and living in after the party. N and my sister hv been on my back for it.. sisters back in a month so she can see + live in it one shot. To N, give me one more week. Or you could come down and see it for urself. surely the second option sounds better? :)
am expecting about 30+ friends at the party this weekend, on Sunday afternoon actually.. here a a quick checklist on the prep...
- Invitation sent out and acknowledged via FB mostly
- Poolside booked (dont think i can fit in that many in my flat); fingers crossed on the weather..
- Food ordered – thanks to CC (would have loved to make some myself but don want to mess the kitchen or have the smell lingering around. Downside of living in an apartment?) .
- Drinks more or lest sorted. Just the beers left, but bro promised to get it tom. Funny really, its a ‘tea’ party and i’ve not as much as given the first thought to serving ‘tea’.. lol
- Serving trays, dishes and disposable party wares – going tescos tom
- Still got a couple of DIYs work to complete. Dad and bro coming over to help tom.
- Maybe get some fresh flowers for the vase too.
