good old days!

Got this from a blog. interesting.. for a moment there, I was back to my good old school days... have fun reading.. (changed a bit here and there to fit in m'sian context

Gone are the days........but not the memories ...
Gone are the days when the school reopened in Jan, and we settled in our new desks and benches.... Gone are the days when we waited for free text books, wishing more than ever for new ones ... Gone are the days when we wanted two Sundays and no Mondays, yet managed to line up daily for the morning assembly.... Gone are the days when we chased one another in the corridors during recess time, and returned to the classrooms drenched in sweat.... Gone are the days when we had lunch in classrooms, corridors, Playgrounds, under the trees and even in cycle sheds... Gone are the days when P.J period in the week's time table, was awaited more eagerly than anything else.... Gone are the days of fights but no conspiracies, of competitions but seldom jealousy... Gone are the days when few rushed to"Conquer" window seats in our School bus.... Gone are the days of Sports Day, and the annual School Day, and the one-month long preparations for them... Gone are the days of the stressful Quarterly, Half Yearly and Annual Exams, and the most enjoyed holidays after them, but still look forward to school reopening just to show off our new shoes and uniform... Gone are the days we learnt, we enjoyed, we played, we won, we lost, we laughed, we cried,we fought, we thought... Gone are the days with so much fun in them, so many friends, so much experience, all this and more... Gone are the days but not the memories, which will be lingering in our hearts for ever and ever... *sigh*
now, hope that took you back to your school days...

on a totally different note,

with my summer holiday plans around the corner, i realised its high time to do something about my extra baggage and came up with a 'healthy living' regime.. part of the plan is; no stopping by starbucks for mocha frap in the mornings ; no more dried mangoes from cranberries (btw, they are awesome!); only one coffee a day ; exercise or at least walk up as the escalator moves; pack lunch from home.. (when based in office of course) ; 2 littres of water a day ..... and a few others

so, to start off, i visited tesco on saturday and stuffed the fridge with all kind of healthy food (i even bought the damn oatmeal bread i hate!). and, did i mention the low fat sunflower cooking oil spray i got? man, i love that thing. who ever came up with that idea is a genius!
now, into my 3rd day, things are still looking good. yesterday, i woke up early to make smoked turkey sandwich for lunch.. did sit-ups.. walked up the escalator.. and had chapati for dinner.. today, again i woke up early to make the same smoked turkey sandwich (I bought a bit too much of the smoked turkey and it expires this friday).. everythings went well until the gal from HR came around giving us ice creams.. followed by an-e-mail from one of the lead partners in the firm..

Dear all,
In celebration of
England's stunning achievement in beating the Antarctica penguins
Tim Henman's last appearance at Wimbledon
a hard working year for everyone, about to finish in a climax of billing........
Ice creams for everyone
Enjoy!!
well.... while i'm not a big fan of ice-creams or much sweet stuff for that matter, I just could not resist.. i mean, u look around, everyone else is having one. i should have one too. only then its appropriate (says who?).. so, i did. but that was it. its just a one time slip. a slight one. its normal. it happens. i'm back on track now.. looking forward to dinner (might be chappati with sardine) and another smoked turkey sandwich for lunch tomorrow...
