Me and M, shopped for most of Saturday and then met S for dinner. Dinner was in Dempsey Hill, which came highly recomended as a very nice area for food. So it was. cosy ambiance and great greenery although in the night, you can't see much. You got to either drive or get the cab there. Higher end restaurants with a little steep on price. we had a little walkabout the place first, checking out the type of restaurants and then the Jones Grocer, a top notch grocery (200 bucks for a bottle of olive oil).. S insisted we see it. walked about the store, sort of window shopping with the i'm-so-interested look.. but I did get some almond nougats, chocolates and a S6.60 (about RM15) for fresh pineapple+ginger juice. was a bit curious to the combo, that was yummy. Not in worth-my-penny way though. It was ten by the time we were done there and most kitchens in the diners around were closed and only serving drinks or dessert. We had no choice but to end up in Jumbo, a Chinese seafood place with a few chains around spore, well known for their chili crab. Since I don’t do crab, S & M had it all for themselves.
A bit too tired we decided to head back to M's, for coffee. S came along and we played the Disney version of monopoly, belongs to an ex-housemate of M. I’ve seen a couple of other versions, but this is the weirdest and funniest.. Park lane was The Lion King. S, who remembers practically every single thing on the standard set, kept referring to it lots like Oxford st, bond st, etc. the stuff on the ‘chance’ cards were hilarious too. Like ‘you found Cinderella’s shoes. Collect $200’ LoL. and that was Saturday. On Sunday me and M decided to take it easy on the shopping and watched ‘Made of Honor’ the new Patrick Dempsey Romantic-comedy.. (N is probably hating me for ditching her again. Sorry gal. McDreamy was too tempting.. )
The thing I never get is how these movies are release in Singapore on the Global release dates, wherelse only screened in Malaysia like 2 months later?! Sex in the City movie will be on in Spore on the 29th May just like the rest of the world, while we in Malaysia got to wait till end of July. How unfair?! Anyway N, just to make you feel better, ‘Made of Honor’ wasn’t anything to go goo gaa about.. it’s actually the reverse of My best friend’s wedding, one of my all time fav romcom. only here, Patrick D playing Juia R. So, the whole thing feels familiar. But the sceneries were beautiful, especially in Scotland. brought back good old memories, I managed to recognized the castle which supposedly is the groom’s home in the movie, it’s the one on the way to Isle of Skye. the casts were OK, though I feel Patrick D’ hair had seen much better days, yet he was dashing. *sigh* So basically its not something I’d make time to watch, but if nothing much to do, its entertaining. I’d pick 27 dresses or What happens in Vegas over this anytime..
