whatt??? up again??

there was an unusual traffic on the entrance to my neighborhood when me and dad were going out ast evening. my first guess was school release time, but it couldn’t be that bad, right. accident? possibly. it was worst by the time we got back an hour later. the fact that there are two fuel stations at the end of the road somehow never crossed our minds. not until dad’s friend came by later saying he got stuck in some massive traffic out of KL. so it was the classic Malaysian attitude again, rushing for a full tang before midnight. isn't it the case every time? but this was nothing like before. and not until I logged in to thestar online, i realised that it is nothing like before. the price was up by freaking 40%! WTF?!
It’s shocking..
then again, but what difference would the one day make when you know you got to live with it tomorrow onwards. i'm not getting into the mad queue for the few bucks i'll be saving once. plus, whats possibility they run out of fuel by the time its my turn. very high. considering the amount of cars. and that was the case in a neighbourhood fuel station. Thank God I worked from home yesterday. The heavy downpour coupled with thousands of cars flocking to fill up their tanks everywhere caused massive jams all over Klang Valey apparently.

Fuel price has seen the most percentage of increase since 2006. with the biggest this time around. from RM1.92 to RM2.70 per litre, effective midnight yesterday.. This time increase of increase 78 sen , 40.6% is rather drastic! Whatever happened Pak Lah’s promise ...‘No petrol price hike in accordance with people’s wish..’ digging his grave deeper ain't he? I can go on and on on this whole thing, but nothing that’s not already been voiced out. Media and the entire Malaysian Blogoshpere is bursting with news and comments... all ranting away in frustration. And the oppositions are having a field day. As usual, very smart to take the opportunity.
Its frustrating..
I’ll be one of the many BADLY affected people with this. as most of you know, I commute from Seremban to PJ for work. I used to spend around RM50 a day on the road. 30 for fuel and 20 for toll, making 250 a week and a thousand a month, and thats not including the wear and tear of the car (which not to mention is only going to be higher with the new car. regret? naah never!) and with the hike now, i’ll be spending 45+20 per-day which is 325 a week and 1300 a month. That’s an extra 300 bucks a month! Inflation, fuel price going up, food getting more expensive, everything else getting way more expensive. but no talk on increase in their salary or pay? of all the reactions on media, I particularly like one from the oppositions party who commented; "What does the Prime Minister mean when he tells people to change their lifestyle? Eat less? Spend less?".. well said. not enough with that, the prime minister had to announce that electricity rates will be up by 18% for homes and 26% for business. duh, is there better form of self demolition? well done Pak Lah. you just secured you position. not.
