fish spa anyone?

Imagine all those all those tiny fish nibbling on your feet. an unusual form of pampering.. it was Nat's idea that we try the much spoken about 'Fish Spa' thingi.. we (about 8 of us) went to try it out at the new outlet open in Bangsar. in case you haven't heard, its another method for removing dead skin cells. dip your legs in and let the fishes nibble them away. they are small tropical fish called Garra Rufa.. also known as natural method for treatment of skin diseases apparently. just how exactly, i dont know. but there is also the question of hygiene when you have hundreds (or more) of others dipping into the same pool.. hhmmm. rather not go there.

I hesitated for a bit before dipping in. waited for the rest to go first (hehe) .. it felt like pins & needles or electric shock really.. something wiggly around your feet. ticklish when bigger fishes nibbles. I was lifting and shaking my legs whenever the bigger fished 'attacked', especially when they get to the bottom of your feet. weird at first but the feeling sort of grows into you. easier if you dont look at your feet really.. Apparently, the more fish you attract, the more dead skin you have. (looks like i'm way over due for a pedicure!) paid RM25 for 30 minutes. reasonable..
they even have whole body dipping apparently. no thank you from me. this itself was more like a one time experience. it wasn't bad. Not a never-again but i'd rather not.. will stick to the conventional way of removing dead skin... but bottom line, we all had fun. squirming and laughing away.
