Me and dad were in Sl1m River yesterday, visiting my aunt's sister who just lost her husband and 26 year old son on a gun-shot robbery at their grocery store. We went to express our condolences as dad wasn't in town during the funeral. I know the pain of loosing a loved one, especially when it comes without any warning. I'm still getting thru it. But loosing two at once in such a cruel way is something even I can only imagine..
She was apparently upstairs on their double storey shop lot during the incident. One of the 3 robbers shot her son on the arm when her husband refused to give in. The father got angry and hit one of the robber with a steal bar. After some tussling around, the robbers escaped, but shot the father in his stomach just before driving off. Her son passed away as soon as they got him to the nearby hospital. The bullet which was aimed at his arm got right thru his heart blocking one of the important nerve to the brain. And the father passed away two days later. Doctors couldn't do much as the bullet got stuck in his back bone. and the worst bit of all, the robbers took about rm1000 in total. is that all the worth of two lives? The neighbour apparently called the police the very moment the robbers stepped foot in the shop. how long should it take the police who are located less than 300 metres away to get to the spot? apparently 45 minutes.
