Got the VCD from my cousin who strongly recommended the movie. Can't agree more with him. it was worth the time. Though a common melodramatic masala of a guy falling in love with a girl on the first look and pursuing her with series of coincidences, the movie is presented with a slightly different concept and a beautiful message. and lined up with practical events that are logically sequenced, means u can bring your sixth sense with you.
Mozhi (means language in Tamil) is an ordinary love story between a musician and a deaf and dumb girl. 2 jovial and happy go lucky musicians. One of them bumps into Jyothika and gets taken by her sheer courage, as she bashes a man who bashes his wife on the street. (classic) He decides to pursue her despite that fact that she is deaf and dumb and gets acquainted with her friend. (more classics). The friendship between the four grow. and the story goes on the smiles, tears, emotional turmoil and contagious laughter of the four. I wont say more & spoil it for you..
Despite the typical storyline, the movie did not feel too typical. All the four characters beautifully blends in, having their own share of contribution. its difficult take favor on any one. (though prakash raj was my fav) And the message on challenged people who braved the odds rather than expect a look of sympathy or compassion was very nicely conveyed. The friendship between the four with an infectious enthusiasm and enjoy life the way it is was well portrayed. makes you feel good wishing you too had such friendship. The humour is another plus-point to the movie. especially the part where Prakash raj tells his friend about how he confronts his feeling for Swarnamalya. Not deliberate at all. Then the settings in the movie. The black& white deco of Pritviraj's house; the artistic and cozy feel in Jyotika's room; the scenes and sceneries; were very beautiful. Finally, the best part of the film, the music. Simply fab! soothing to the heart and puts a smile to your face. go watch it.

I agree with you mala...It's a superb movie. The way the director showed us the feelings of Jhotika as a deaf and dumb person was really good. It touched my heart when Karthik gave back the violin and how he helped Jothika feel music. Wow!! That was good man. I try to imagine myself being deaf and dumb.
